  • 2015 - Present Southport Forest Products, LLC - Controller
    Responsible for all accounting/financing/Human Resources activities for a privately held enterprise consisting of a sawmill, whole log chipping facility, logging, and trucking businesses. Manage a staff of three direct reports. Manage the administrative needs of an affiliated logging company. Produce monthly financials and department expense statements. Daily cash management.
  • 2014 - 2015 Warm Springs Forest Products Industries (WSFPI) - Controller
    Responsible for all accounting/financing/Human Resources activities for an enterprise (sawmill) owned by the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs, Oregon. Manage a staff of three direct reports. Provide guidance and expert advice to the Board of Directors and currently fill the position of Board Treasurer (non-voting position). Conduct Quarterly Financial Results presentations to Tribal Council as well as attending various other Council meetings relative to WSFPI.
  • 2008 – 2013 Terra Nova Nurseries, Inc. - General/Cost Accountant
    Responsibilities : managerial-cost accounting ,budgeting-forecasting activities for a wholesale perennial plant nursery. Reconcile daily cash position. Manage Accounts Payable, Purchase Order, and company credit card activities. Various ad hoc reporting assignments. Tasked with moving accounting methods from cash to accrual basis. Tasked with training company managers/supervisors in standard (GAAP) accounting methods and report analysis.
  • 2006 – 2008 Longview Timber, Corp. - Department Controller
    Responsible for all aspects of managerial and financial accounting for a multi-entity privately held company through the management of an accounting staff of eight (three direct reports, five indirect reports). Coordinate activities and reporting requirements with Director of Tax Accounting.
  • 2003 – 2006 Hancock Forest Management – Vancouver, WA - Timber Resource Accountant
    Responsible for processing, log production, log sales revenue, and severance taxes for California, Oregon, Washington, and Canadian Operations. Also responsible for Washington B&O taxes. Includes twice-monthly logger payments and customer receipts.
  • 1991 – 2003 Georgia-Pacific Corporation / Plum Creek Timber Company
    Senior Operations Accountant for West Coast timberlands and nurseries. Developed, maintained, and improved procedures and systems that captured, tracked, and reported all reforestation, silviculture, and harvesting activities. Interacted and advised mangers on developing effective means for measuring actual results compared to budgets and forecasts including cash flow. Created periodic reports for management including Profit & Loss, cash flow, and inventory tracking, and variance analyses and presented results. Generated yearly reports for the IRS relative to timber & timberland activities. Generated yearly state & federal tax work papers for corporate tax department. Coordinated property tax & excise tax filings and acted as liaison with county and state auditors.
  • 1990 – 1991 NERCO, Inc.
    Accounting Supervisor – Royalty Relations for the Oil & Gas Division. Managed a two-person accounting team responsible for administering the royalty owners’ payable system which generated approximately $15.6MM of payments annually. Worked closely with Landman and Division of Interest departments to ensure accurate and timely updating of payables system. Coordinated escheat payments with various state treasurers’ offices throughout U.S.
  • 1985 – 1990 Chevron USA, Inc.
    Revenue Accountant – Natural Gas for domestic operations. Tracked and recorded the company’s, and associated royalty owners’ proportion, of assigned on-operated gas wells and processing plants. Voluntarily converted manual tracking systems to electronic spreadsheets for other accountants. Administered an automated system that tracked revenues and issued royalty payments of approximately $100M monthly for assigned company operated gas processing plants. Team member of select group assigned to reconcile ’Orphan Gas’ balances.
