Large Log Mill Complex - Greenfield Project 2001 - 2003
Client: Yakama Forest Products & Vanport International
Location: White Swan, Washington
Conduct independent resource assessment and reformulate mill design criteria and conceptual design for best-fit with available timber and projected harvest. Managed engineering, procurement, and construction from ground preparation to mill start-up one-shift and then second shift operations. Particular focus on sawing centers, custom saw design, and filing room installations, organization & training which contributed to rapid start-up curve, superior product quality and successful filing room staffing with all Tribal crew. Provided hands-on training of mill staff and equipment operators to achieve budgeted production on both shifts of 300,000BF/shift.
